mweaTellus è la mweqdea mwegromana della mwewTerra e protettrice della mwfafecondità, dei morti e contro i mwfqterremoti.

Il suo culto, probabilmente più antico della religione ufficiale mwfwromana, pare ricollegarsi a quello similare della mwgaGrande Madre. Veniva celebrato il 15 aprile con la festa delle mwgqmwggFordicidia; col tempo, tuttavia, fu associato a quello di mwgwCerere sino a fondersi con esso.

Tellus, sempre con Cerere, è citata da mwhqOvidio come una delle "madri delle messi" (mwhgfrugum matres)cite-ref-1[1]. Il termine mwiwSaturnia Tellus indicava in età romana la mitica mwjaetà dell'oro, quando il dio Saturno, spodestato dal figlio Giove, governava nel Lazio.
